Dragon Edong, a World Class & Award Winning Tattoo Artist, represented Saipan and the Philippines in different tattoo competitions locally as well as internationally. He is the Western Pacific's most renowned tattoo artist. With tattoo experience since 1980, he has engraved thousands of tattoos. Winning the coveted first place prize in the 1st World Tattoo Festival at Bangkok, Thailand last February 2006, made him decide to have the first Saipan International Tatu & Arts Fest.
With a Fine Arts background, he is capable of rendering a desired image with expertise and precision. Member of Ta Tatau headed by Keone Nuñez of Hawaii and an honorary member of Philippine Tattoo Artist's Guild, Inc. (PHILTAG), Dragon is a self taught master of the craft. With the art in his veins, he chose to be a skin artist. Dragon Edong says, "Just like any other tattoo artist, I want to keep the culture of our country, even if the style that I do is not the traditional way, but the art that I do is one of the oldest art, that is why I am personally organizing this convention to have an exchange of tattoo culture in every people who is going to attend this first tatu convention here in Saipan."
